Check out this Ram
Dodge Ram line of pickups has a lot to offer its owners for both work
and play, company officials say. A team of Dodge reps stopped by
Successful Farming's offices this week with some of the company's latest
models, including this 2011 Ram 1500 Big Horn Crew Cab 4x4. Check out
some of the features of this new farm-ready pickup.
The nuts & bolts
The Ram 1500 Big Horn Crew Cab features a 5.7-liter V8 HEMI MDS VVT engine, 5-speed automatic transmission, 17-inch aluminum wheels and a 3.55 rear axle ratio, which helps the pickup net as many as 20 highway miles per gallon.
It's a HEMI
The 2011 Ram lineup features the company's well-known HEMI V8 MDS dual valve timing engine that generates 390 horsepower at 5,600 RPM and over 400 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 RPM.
The new Ram's exterior features factory-integrated dual exhaust, available chrome tubular sidesteps and a new Mopar hood.
The new Ram features multi-coil suspension that helps increase overall ride quality, according to Dodge. This system includes balanced front & rear spring rates, fully boxed hydroformed frame and front springs and a tubular stabilizer bar.
Bed & storage
The Crew Cab model has a 5'7" bed length versus the larger Quad Cab's 6'4" bed. The 2011 line of Dodge pickups includes a number of different cargo accessories to fit what you're hauling, according to company information.
That's the name of the Ram's cargo storage system. Lockable, waterproof and drainable cargo boxes on either side of the bed come with built-in cargo rails, sliding tie-downs and rail covers. The Ram Box on either side of the pickup's bed can hold up to 120 cans of soda or beer with ice.
The Ram's bed also comes with a box divider/extender. When the tailgate is down, it functions as a bed extender. Otherwise, it works with the bed's integrated locking system to work as a divider.
The 2011 Ram lineup has all the bells and whistles on the inside, including ergonomic storage compartments, available heated/ventilated seats, multimedia system and a backup camera.
Want to crank up the volume? Dodge offers an optional Alpine Audio surround-sound stereo system and an MP3 auxiliary jack in the in-dash stereo. Also optional are a Sirius brand satellite TV in the back seat and UConnect web access.
It may not be the old Ram hood ornament you may be accustomed to from the Rams of the 1980s, but there's no mistaking the pickups' signature styling.
