Cub Cadet Unveils Challenger UTVs

Cub Cadet is expanding its utility vehicle lineup with the launch of the new Challenger series, which includes the Challenger 500 and 700.

“With this new series, we’re expanding our line of purpose-built utility vehicles to meet the challenges UTV owners love to take on,” says Jeff Salamon, Cub Cadet.

Both models are capable of hauling 350 pounds and towing 1,200. The 500 is powered by a Delphi EFI 471-cc engine, while the 700 is powered by a slightly larger 686-cc engine.

The machines are made to tackle tough challenges with electronically activated four-wheel drive with a front locking differential and four-wheel independent, adjustable suspension. Durability was taken into account by engineering a high-strength steel frame with heavy-duty reinforcements as well as high-strength steering components with spherical bearings.

Standard equipment includes a hard-top roof, quick-release windshield, alloy wheels, front-mount winch, large-profile 26-inch off-road tires, and a digital display.

“The Challenger Series standard features allow owners to successfully challenge a wide range of tasks and have fun while doing it,” says Joe Schilens, Cub Cadet.

These two-passenger machines will be available through Cub Cadet’s dealer network starting in May. A larger vehicle with seating for four will be available this summer. The 500 and 700 are available in yellow or camouflage with prices starting at $8,499 and $9,499, respectively.
