Last September, the Successful Farming team unleashed eight UTVs on Little Goose Ranch in Wyoming. The machines were tested by 12 evaluators on eight criteria. On the left, evaluators John Lumkes and Mick Frazier take the Polaris Ranger XP 900 for a spin.

Each machine was tested unloaded and then loaded up with half of the rated cargo capacity. Here Lumkes fills the Ranger with 500 pounds of gravel.
seats
This Ranger seats three people. If you need more room, Ranger’s are also available with a full cab.
suspension
The Ranger XP 900 features dual a-arm independent front and rear suspension, with 10 inches in front and 10 in the rear. “I like that there are grease zerk fittings on all suspension joints,” says Lumkes. “If maintained, this should allow longer bushing life and better performance.”

The dash shows the miles per hour as well as the fuel gauge.
