Agronomy Tip: Proper Equipment Supports Weed Management

Dave Eckhoff, Southeast Minnesota Sales Manager for Heartland AG Systems says proper application equipment can support your weed management plan.

“Today, we have machinery with large tank capacities,” Eckhoff says. “When a product calls for 15-20 gallons per acre, because we have machines that are properly balanced between the standard 1,200 gallon and 1,600 gallon, instead of cheating the rate of the carrier you're using, you can go with the proper or the labeled rate.”

Another feature is auto boom technology on sprayers. Auto boom technology allows you to account for nozzle angle, droplet size, and height while adjusting to terrain and varying crop height.
