Brazil Harvests 10% of Soybean Area in 2017/18 Cycle

SAO PAULO, Feb 9 (Reuters) - Brazilian farmers have harvested 10% of the soybean area in the 2017/18 cycle, below last year's level of 19%, as work is progressing more slowly than usual in important states, according to consultancy AgRural on Friday.

Work has been particularly slow in the state of Paraná, Brazil's second largest producing region after Mato Grosso, where only 1 percent of the area had been harvested through Thursday, compared with 13 percent at this time last year. (Reporting by Ana Mano Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)
