Financial investors slash net long position in Euronext wheat

PARIS, Nov 16 (Reuters) -

* Non-commercial market participants cut their net long position in Euronext's milling wheat futures and options in the week to Nov. 11, data published by Euronext on Wednesday showed.

* Non-commercial participants, which include investment funds and financial institutions, reduced their net long position to 48,054 contracts from 77,320 a week earlier, the data showed.

* Commercial participants similarly lowered their net short position to 70,887 contracts from 96,978 a week earlier.

* Commercials' short positions accounted for 60.1% of the total short position, while commercial long positions accounted for 48.7% of total long positions.

* Non-commercial short positions represented 38.6% of total short positions, while non-commercial net long positions accounted for 48% of the total longs.

* The report covered 98.6% of the open short positions and 96.7% of the open long positions in the wheat derivatives.

* In Euronext's rapeseed futures and options, non-commercial market participants reduced their net short position to 7,626 contracts from 8,925 a week earlier.

* Commercial participants lifted their net long position in rapeseed to 13,700 contracts from 8,709 a week earlier.
