Hungary's farm PPI up 6 pct y/y in Aug -stats

BUDAPEST, Oct 12 (Reuters) - Hungarian agricultural producer prices rose by an annual 6.0 percent in August after a 1.2 percent increase in July, due to an increase in the price of vegetables and cereals, data showed on Friday.

Livestock and related product prices fell by 2.1 percent year-on-year, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said. Vegetable, fruit and cereals prices rose by 11 percent. The price of wheat rose by 15 percent, while maize added 13 percent in annual terms.

In the first eight months of 2018, agricultural producer prices were 1.7 percent higher from the same period a year earlier. (Reporting by Marton Dunai)
