MEDIA LINK-InVivo offered nearly 2.3 bln euros to take over Soufflet- Challenges magazine

PARIS, Jan 14 (Reuters) - French cooperative group InVivo's offer to take over family-controlled Soufflet totalled nearly 2.3 billion euros ($2.8 billion), French magazine Challenges said on Thursday, citing an unnamed bank source close to the deal.

InVivo said on Wednesday that it had entered exclusive talks to acquire Soufflet in a deal that would create one of Europe's biggest agricultural businesses with 10 billion euros in sales. The transaction price was not disclosed.

InVivo declined to comment on Thursday.
