Ukraine 2018 grain harvest seen little changed at 61.7 mln T - researcher

KIEV, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Ukraine's 2018 grain harvest is
likely to be around 61.7 million tonnes, little changed from
last year's total, the country's national agricultural research
centre IAE said on Wednesday.

IAE said the wheat harvest was likely to fall around 6
percent to 25 million tonnes, while output of maize could rise
more than 9 percent to 26.3 million tonnes.

It also forecast Ukraine would harvest 8 million tonnes of
barley this year, versus 8.3 million in 2017.

IAE said Ukraine was likely to boost its rapeseed harvest by
17.3 percent to 2.6 million tonnes, while the harvest of
soybeans could rise around 11 percent to 4.3 million tonnes.

Ukraine could harvest 12.6 million tonnes of sun seed as
well this year, it added.

Earlier on Wednesday, the state statistics service said
Ukraine's 2017 grain harvest fell more than previously assumed
to 61.3 million tonnes.
