Ukraine 2020 grain harvest 86% complete

KYIV, Oct 30 (Reuters) - Ukraine has harvested 51.9 million tonnes of grain from 13.2 million hectares, or 86% of the sown area, as of Oct. 29, the economy ministry said on Friday.

It said farmers had completed the wheat and barley harvest and collected 16 million tonnes of corn from 3.4 million hectares, or 62% of the sown area.

The ministry expects the grain crop could fall to around 68 million tonnes in 2020 from a record 75 million tonnes in 2019 due to severe drought across most parts of the country. (Reporting by Pavel Polityuk; editing by Jason Neely)
