Ukraine grain exports down 16% so far in 2020/21 season
KYIV, Dec 23 (Reuters) - Ukraine's grain exports have fallen 16% to 24.76 million tonnes so far this season, which runs from July 2020 to June 2021, economy ministry data showed on Wednesday.
Traders have sold 8.34 million tonnes of corn, 3.75 million tonnes of barley and 12.29 million tonnes of wheat, the data showed.
Ukraine, which accounts for roughly 16% of global grain exports, sold about 57 million tonnes of grain to foreign buyers in the 2019/20 season.
The government has said that exports could decline to around 44.2 million tonnes in 2020/21 because of a smaller harvest.
The economy ministry this week said that the 2020 grain crop fell to 65.4 million tonnes from 2019's record 75.1 million tonnes. (Reporting by Pavel Polityuk Editing by David Goodman )
