Ukraine grain traders' union ups 2019 wheat crop forecast

KIEV, Sept 11 (Reuters) - Ukrainian grain traders' union UZA said on Wednesday it had upgraded its forecast for Ukraine's 2019 wheat crop by 600,000 tonnes from its previous estimate to 28.3 million tonnes. Its forecast for Ukraine's 2019 maize (corn) crop was raised by 900,000 tonnes to 35.4 million tonnes, while its estimate for barley was increased by 400,000 tonnes to 9 million tonnes, the association said in a statement. UZA added its forecast for Ukraine's grain exports in the 2019/20 marketing year, which started on July 1, remained unchanged, but it raised its estimate of domestic consumption. UZA did not disclose the new domestic consumption forecast.
