Ukraine's April 6-12 sea port grain exports fall about 20 pct on week - APK-Inform

KIEV, April 15 (Reuters) - Ukrainian grain exports from sea ports in the week of April 6-12 fell to 777,000 tonnes from 968,000 tonnes a week earlier, the APK-Inform consultancy said on Monday.

Corn exports fell 26 percent to 592,000 tonnes, while wheat shipments declined by 9 percent to 156,000 tonnes, the consultancy said.

Ukraine sent its grains mostly to Iran, China and Egypt.

The country has exported 34.9 million tonnes of wheat, corn and barley so far this season, which runs from July to June, APK-Inform said.

That was up from 28.5 million tonnes in the same period in 2017/18.

This season's exports include 20.4 million tonnes of corn, 11.7 million tonnes of wheat and 2.8 million tonnes of barley.

Ukraine harvested a record 70 million tonnes of grain this year and expects to export about 49 million tonnes in the 2018/19 July-June season. (Reporting by Pavel Polityuk; Editing by Subhranshu Sahu)
