Watch the Weather Forecasts, Says Successful Marketing Newsletter

Farmers who are deciding on a grain marketing plan will want to watch the weather forecast, according to this week’s Successful Marketing newsletter.

Traders are waiting for the first signs that the U.S. is truly behind the average planting pace.

I have fielded numerous calls in the past week from farmers wondering how it is possible that grain prices are moving lower given the current weather. I agree that 2019 is off to an unusual start, however, it is only mid-April. As long as 50% of the corn crop gets planted by the first week of May, there is still a good chance of hitting trend line (or better) yields.

Until something proves to traders that this is not the case, the funds are unlikely to waiver.
