transition from La Niña to ENSO-neutral conditions was most
likely, and neutral conditions were expected to continue into
the second half of the year.
* The National Weather Service's Climate Prediction Center
in its monthly forecast pegged the chance of ENSO-neutral
conditions at about 55 percent during the March-May season.

SANTIAGO, March 8 (Reuters) - Eleven countries are expected
to sign a landmark Asia-Pacific trade agreement in Santiago on
Thursday as an antidote to the increasingly protectionist bent
of the United States, which pulled out of the pact last year.

WASHINGTON, March 8 (Reuters) - U.S. corn supplies will be
smaller than expected due to strong export demand and rising
ethanol production while the already ample soybean stockpile was
forecast to rise, the U.S. Agriculture Department said on
U.S. soybean exports face increased competition from Brazil,
the top world supplier. The government raised its outlook for
Brazil soybean production by 1 million tonnes and its export
outlook for the country by 1.5 million tonnes.
