MOSCOW, Dec 12 (Reuters) - Russia, a major wheat exporter,
had harvested 140.2 million tonnes of grain before drying and
cleaning by Dec. 12, with an average yield of 3.05 tonnes per
hectare from 99 percent of the total area, Agriculture Ministry
data showed on Wednesday.
Drying and cleaning usually reduces the crop by 5-6 percent,
SovEcon agriculture consultancy has said.

CHICAGO, Dec 13 (Reuters) - Falling prices have lured a big
buyer to U.S.-grown, low-protein wheat, raising the prospect for
farmers of more exports and the hope that the market for
low-protein wheat may have reached its nadir.
U.S. wheat prices have tumbled 60 percent since
reaching a four-year high in 2012 as large harvests around the
world have reduced export demand.
