Soybean harvest underway in the South

The 2006 U.S. soybean harvest is underway. Farmers in Arkansas and Mississippi have been combining dryland beans for the last 10 days, but because of dry conditions and heat, this year's soybean crop is the worst in many years for some. Amanda Greer, University of Arkansas Extension Agent assistant, caught up with an area farmer combining dryland soybeans Thursday afternoon and provided Agriculture Online with these photos.
