The Sun Is Setting on the U.S. Harvest Season, USDA Reports

The soybean harvest is clipping along at nearly the same pace as corn.

DES MOINES, Iowa -- The U.S. corn and soybean crops may finish this harvest season at nearly the same time.

In its Weekly Crop Progress Report Monday, the USDA pegged the corn harvest at 90%, slightly below the prior five-year average of 93%.

Soybean collection was 91% complete, which is behind a 96% five-year average.

Wheat

Winter wheat was 93% planted; this is below a 97% five-year average. USDA pegged the U.S. winter wheat crop that has emerged in 56% good/excellent condition vs. 54% last week.
