Boehringer Ingelheim, BQA Team Up to Offer Free Certification

Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. (BIVI) has partnered with the Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) program to provide cattle producers (including beef and dairy operators, veterinarians, allied partners, and students) with the opportunity to become BQA Certified for free by viewing online, interactive modules from February 6 through April 15, 2015.

These modules, customized to cow/calf, stocker, feedlot, or dairy operations, were developed by Dr. Dan Thomson and team at the Beef Cattle Institute at Kansas State University. Online BQA certification allows producers and vets to keep up-to-date with the best practices for cattle handling, production, and disease prevention, so they can provide quality beef to the consumers.

“The cattle industry has embraced BQA because it is the right thing to do; it also helps cattle operations tell their story to consumers who might not understand all of the safety measures taken in producing the food on the table,” states a source from the Iowa Beef Council.

How do I get started?

To take advantage of the online BQA Certification, head to www. BIVI-BQA.com to go through the online modules. It will walk you through the steps to becoming certified. Note: After you register, enter the code BIVIBQA for your payment method for free certification. Once all modules have been completed and quizzes passed successfully, attendees will be officially certified.
