AGCO Expands Canada Parts Facility
AGCO Parts has expanded its existing parts distribution center in Regina, Saskatchewan, with a 25,000-square-foot addition. The original distribution center opened in 1991 and the expansion began in September 2017.
This facility is the largest parts distribution center (PDC) by footprint and inventory value outside of the North American master facilities in Kansas City, Missouri, and Batavia, Illinois. This represents a significant investment by AGCO in Western Canada. It is one of seven North American parts distribution centers.
It has also increased inventory at this facility by 38% to be able to deliver parts faster and lower equipment downtime for farmers in the area. The facility will house parts for the new Fendt IDEAL combine, as well as product lines for Massey Ferguson, Challenger, and Fendt.
“Our mission is to provide unparalleled customer support,” says Bill Hurley, vice president of AGCO aftersales, customer support and distribution development for North America. “One way we do this is by ensuring we have the right parts at the right place, every time. Using historical data on parts inventory movement and the age of machines in the field, we determined which parts our customers use regularly and designed the expansion around that.”
With the expansion, AGCO is targeting to fulfill 90% of orders out of the PDC for Regina dealers. This is a 50% improvement in only four years.
They will also offer different ways to acquire parts quickly. These include:
• Parts pickup at the Regina PDC with only a two-hour notice for local customers.
• An option to drop-ship parts.
• Same-day shipping to 52 of 56 AGCO dealers located in a geographic proximity to the Regina PDC.
• Weekend service during peak seasons.
