CNH Enters Partnership to Bring Connectivity to all Brazilian Farmers

In order to help all of its farmers take full advantage of today’s precision farming, digital, and automated resources, Brazil needs to ensure connectivity is brought to the entire ag sector. To achieve that, CNH Industrial N.V. has partnered with seven other companies to develop ConectarAGRO. This initiative will consolidate and expand internet access across the country’s entire agricultural regions, including rural areas. It will also promote open and standardized technologies, which will allow farmers more freedom and flexibility, and bring added optimization to Case IH and New Holland agricultural machinery, CASE Construction Equipment and New Holland Construction machines, and IVECO commercial vehicles.

“The system will provide connectivity for the entire farm fleet, bringing together equipment, people, and other devices under a single system,” says Gregory Riordan, director of digital technologies at CNH Industrial, South America. “In this sense, ConectarAGRO will be key to Brazilian agribusinesses as they aim to further increase their global productivity and competitiveness.”

Partnering with CNH in the initiative are AGCO, Bayer, Jacto, Nokia, Solinftec, TIM, and Trimble. By bringing together the diversity, competencies, and common interests of these companies, the initiative is creating an environment to better understand the connectivity issue from different perspectives and develop an effective strategy toward solutions.

While each company will provide expertise and market experience to improve connectivity, there are no joint development programs planned, and they will continue to operate independently.
