CNH Industrial Acquires Precision Farming Software Company AgDNA

CNH Industrial has entered into an agreement to purchase AgDNA, a farm management information system (FMIS). This partnership will enable farmers and agribusinesses to consolidate a wide range of agronomic data streams into a single platform for quicker decision making. Because this open platform works across a variety of data sources and brands, all data inputs are standardized. This makes it possible for mixed-fleet owners to view all data in a similar form in one place.

“CNH Industrial is committed to further digitalizing modern agriculture, with the clear ambition to develop a comprehensive suite of digital and connectivity services to help our customers run their farming operations in a seamless and productive way,” says Hubertus Mühlhäuser, chief executive officer, CNH Industrial. “The acquisition of AgDNA, is further evidence of our continuing investment in digital farming.”

The company says the acquisition of AgDNA will not affect its longstanding approach to data control. Farmers will continue to control all of the data used by the system as well as maintain the ability to use the variety of in-house and third-party applications that best suit their farming operations.

The FMIS will be available in North America in the last quarter of 2019 through the Case IH and New Holland Agriculture dealer networks.
