Farmland Finder Lets You Determine The Value Of Land
As a young entrepreneur from Iowa, Steven Brockshus wants to help you better connect to farmland opportunities.
Terva, which he developed as part of his agricultural entrepreneurship class at Iowa State University, lets you view upcoming land sales, sale price records, sale transaction details, soil composition maps, and more.
“When it comes to farmland, its value can be very dependent on where it’s located. Terva makes it very transparent what land is selling for in your area,” explains Brockshus. “Unlike other sites, this system isn’t estimating a land’s value. It is giving farmers, investors, and landowners the data they need to determine their own value. Terva provides all the information you need to make an informed decision about farmland values.”
He has been beta-testing his product for more than a year, and the company recently went public. The system includes three tiers.
- Terva Free: Includes upcoming land sales, soil composition maps, sale comparison tool, and alert zone notifications.
- Terva Standard: Starts at $10/month. Includes upcoming land sales, soil composition maps, a sale comparison tool, alert zone notifications, and single-county sale prices.
- Terva Enterprise: Starts at $150/month. Includes upcoming land sales, soil composition maps, a sale comparison tool, alert zone notifications, multi-county sale prices, sale transaction details, book/page numbers, parcel ID numbers, county assessor sale notes, and downloadable soil reports.
While Terva is currently focused on Iowa, Brockshus' plan is to expand coverage to other Midwestern states in the near future. Ultimately, he wants to cover the entire U.S.
