TradeLanes Chosen as Winner of 2018 World Agri-Tech Pitch Day

More than 150 start-ups from around the world applied to compete in the 2018 World Agri-Tech Pitch Day. After a rigorous selection process, eight finalists were announced. The finalists included BeeHero (Israel), EggXYt (Israel), HerdDogg (U.S.), RootWave (UK), Sollum (Canada), Tortuga AgTech (U.S.), TradeLanes (U.S.) and Vence Corp (U.S.).

Of those eight, TradeLanes has been chosen as the winner. The Kansas start-up is a digital trade room that automatically generates global trade documents for physical commodities. The platform creates a single source of truth for every shipment, which enables a seamless, handoffs approach of all trade documents for greater efficiency, accuracy, and cost savings.

Following are the competition judges:

  • Kirk Haney, CEO and managing partner of Radicle Growth
  • Arama Kukutai, cofounder and partner of Finistere Ventures
  • Geoff Kneen, R&D licensing and new ventures manager (North America) for Bayer
  • Dan Cosgrove, VP business development for DuPont Pioneer
  • Kiersten Stead, investment director for Monsanto Growth Ventures

As the winner, TradeLanes will have the opportunity to receive $250,000 in investment funding from Radicle Growth, an acceleration fund.

“Winning the World Agri-Tech Pitch Day is a huge honor,” says Vijay Harrell, CEO, TradeLanes. “It’s industry recognition that we have put together the right team to solve an important problem in agricultural global trade. “We’re delighted to be working with TradeLanes and to move its exciting solution forward with our $250,000 investment,” says Haney. “It was a really tough competition. The level of technology innovation that has been showcased throughout this process has been exceptional.”
