8 ways to evaluate marketing claims


Companies annually pitch a plethora of products to farmers that nix yield-limiting components, such as weeds and insects. They also market seed and fertilizer products to help enhance yields.

Bob Nielsen, Purdue University Extension agronomist, has compiled 14 tips farmers can use to decipher marketing claims, eight of which are featured in this video.

“Being a critical thinker as you evaluate marketing claims and information can help improve the profitability and sustainability of your farming operation,” he says.
